Thank you for your prayer

Thank you to all who were praying for us in New England.   Although many towns in our area were more than 90 % without power in the aftermath of the storm, more than 7 million in the country, by Wednesday morning we (in my town) awoke to having access to power, water, telephone and internet :)

While New England is north of NJ where Sandy made her entry to the country, the winds north of the storm were quite harsh, and it was early on Monday that I heard that resounding "snap" of a Red Maple coming down!  Ever so grateful it fell in a southern direction over a old stone wall, rather than on our home.  Soon after, we lost power.  We are now back to routine in our area.

Thank you all for your prayers, and I especially ask if you are willing to continue to pray for those who have been devastated by this natural disaster.

Godspeed,
mary

  1. Hi Mary, Wasn't God gracious to us here in NH! We continue in prayer for those south of us who had much worse damage. I have a question for you. I just started free motion quilting and I'm finding that the back, bobbin stitches, are pulling away from the stitches and I wonder if you could help me to trouble shoot the problem. Thanks. God bless, Jen

    1. Yeah so glad for you giving FMQ a go! I will give it a go and see if I may be of help. If I understand you right, your bobbin stitches are looking too loose, if that is right, and your bobbin is in correctly with the thread pulled into the tension bar on the bobbin case, then it may mean your top stitches are too tight... few things you can check... are bottom and top thread the same weight? Can also try loosening your top tension thread by choosing a lower number, I usually move it a few clicks at a time on mine, about a 1/4 of a number at a time. Also, how is your speed/thread stitch length looking? pretty even? or are you long and then tiny?
Let me know how it goes as you check these.
